Columbus Day Weekend Hotel Deals

Looking ahead at the fall calendar, Columbus Day weekend looks like a good time to plan an escape to Disney World. The kids have an extra day off school (Monday October 8th), and a quick search on Expedia led me to a couple of great hotel deals.

The first one I found was for the Radisson Resort Orlando, which is averaging 3.7 stars on Expedia’s customer review scale.

As you can see, the special rate is $69 for a standard room if you stay for 3 or more nights. The Radisson has some nice amenities like free internet access, shuttle service to the Walt Disney World, and 2 themed outdoor pools.

According to the website, each room includes a refrigerator, in-room safe, coffeemaker, and premium linens.

This is a limited offer, so no guarantees this price will available when you get online!

Next I found this deal fromĀ Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort, which is rated as a 3.4 start hotel in the reviews.

This is an advance purchase sale with no minimums on room nights. The Wyndham sits across the street from Downtown Disney, and features 2 outdoor splash pools, a children’s pool, and 2 tennis courts. Another convenient feature is the Character breakfasts they offer 3 mornings a week at LakeView Restaurant.

There was no mention of a shuttle service, but if you can make it across the street to downtown Disney then you can always catch a ride there. Listed features for the rooms include compact refrigerators, in-room safes, and 27-inch TVs with premium channels. One drawback is the absence of free WI-fi inside the rooms.

These are the only hotels I found who were advertising rates under $100 per night over Columbus Day weekend. Of course the prices can change at any time, so your best bet is to search Expedia yourself to see what is available when you’re ready to book.

If you do go, you’ll definitely want to attend the Halloween Party on Friday October 5th. This is the most accessible date for groups arriving on Friday and leaving on Monday. If you are staying before or after these dates, then you have the option to attend the events scheduled for Thursday October 4th or Monday October 8th.

Don’t forget, you need a separate ticket ($65 each) to participate in “Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.”
