For those asking when they can reserve for the next year:

You can book the room, by phone, 500 days in advance. This requires a deposit of one night’s rate. You can later upgrade to a magic your way package when the prices come out for the next year. This does not apply to DVC rooms (villas)

If you want to book the full package for the $250 deposit you need to wait till the price for the year you’re booking come out, generally this happens in August. So if you want to book for 2011 you need to wait for August 2010 for the prices to be released.

They need to make the plan at least a year ahead of time, people need to plan and make payments and then the 45 days before the trip you save for your sovieners the longer we save the more WE spend!!!!!!!!!! Disney freak Tessa

Sorry Amanda – Disney World does not open reservations for next summer until after the close of this year. You best bet is to open a savings account to keep your extra money stashed away until January 2011.

My family is planning a disney vaction for 2011, but the disney site says they are not taking reservations for 2011 yet. We want to use the payment plans so we would like to start making those payment right away. What should I do?

I have used Small World Vacations (they are a direct travel agent through Disney World). You can change the dates (with no penalty as long as it is done so far in advance, like 45 or 60 days…not sure the length). Also, if you make a reservation and any deals come out, they will adjust your package to get you the better deal. They were great to work with as they will do any dining reservations you need as well.

I already have tickets that were given to me as a Christmas present. Is the flexible payment option available when purchasing room reservations only via Disney.com?

Hi Jeff,
I’m not sure about the flexibility in changing dates but my guess is that there would be a fee of some kind associated with that. My opinion would be to wait until you know more about schedule before booking.

I am wanting to schedule a vacation and utilze the payment plan, however due to my unusal work schedule and my wife’s work schedule, the initial dates we may want will probably change. so if i elect the payment plan with pre-set days to go, will I be able to change the days for my vacation if needed? Thanks

It does not cost anything for the payment option. Simply sign up for it through your online registration at the Disney World website. No interest or fees are charged.

Everyone else,

Just to be clear…you first have to book you vacation before you can elect for the payments. Once you have booked you will have your own online login where you can track and make payments on your Disney Vacation.

If you book by phone, just ask the operator about the deposit and payment option.
